Our government litigation representation covers the spectrum from prosecution of claims by a public entity in matters such as contract disputes, environmental issues and property rights matters; to defending a wide variety of claims against our public entity clients. Our attorneys appear before federal and state courts and administrative agencies on behalf of our government clients in civil rights, first amendment, construction and employment discrimination litigation, as well as Open Public Records Act and Open Public Meetings Act matters, and various election issues.
In addition to providing litigation services, as counsel to public entities we prepare and negotiate agreements, investigate claims of harassment and discrimination, and serve as hearing officers in employee disciplinary matters. As general counsel, we provide sound guidance on all matters affecting the public entity under controlling New Jersey and federal law; and assist our client’s executive officers and governing bodies in the preparation of local legislation, the conduct of Public Meetings, delegation of authority and the lawful use public resources.
